Coloso and the Lone Souljahs
The Collection of Lone Souljahs is a group of talented musicians who met while pursuing their musical careers in Vancouver, WA. Every Coloso show is filled with good times, chill vibes, dancing, and happy faces. Coloso brings the island sunshine to brighten any room, and they never fail to deliver a smile to your face. Fronted by ukulele player and lead singer/songwriter, Kevin Coloso, the band formed from a mutual love of reggae music. The open mics in downtown Vancouver WA would always attract some of the most diverse and talented acts in the area and brought together those who bonded over a love and passion for harmonies and a good beat. This is how Kevin, a native Hawaiian from Maui, came to meet many of the singers, drummers, percussionists, guitarists, pianists, and horn players who frequently join the Coloso crew on stage. Musicians would often join each other on stage to fill out the sound, and after playing together enough times, some of the guys felt comfortable enough to book some gigs. Coloso himself has since completely transformed the Collection many times and recorded and released 2 full-length albums over the past decade. In 2013, they recorded a minimalistic yet beautifully recorded EP, engineered by Grammy award-winning Hawaiian instrumental guitarist, Wailau Ryder. In 2016 and 2023, they released their first and second full-length albums, "This is the Life", and "Fortune" in Portland, OR. They've since played with such acts as Sol Seed, Long Beach Dub Allstars, One Drop, DUBBEST, Clinton Fearon, Kolohe Kai, Satsang, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Sammy J., Ekolu, Fiji, Rebel Souljahs, Anuhea, Fortunate Youth, Common Kings, House of Shem, and Grammy award winners, Morgan Heritage and The Wailers, among many others.
